Welcome to Grimstad Bys Museer

Grimstad bys museer is a cultural history museum foundation through which Grimstad's history is preserved and disseminated. Shipping and horticulture have been two important pillars in Grimstad's economic and commercial development for centuries. These are areas covered at the Norwegian Museum of Horticulture and the Maritime Museum in Grimstad.

Furthermore, Grimstad has been the arena for two important contributors to world literature. The town has, for periods, been home to both Henrik Ibsen and Knut Hamsun.  Ibsen's time in Grimstad can be explored at the Ibsen Museum.

A warm welcome to all our visitors!
