Who was Henrik Ibsen?
Most of us are familiar with this great writer, but could it be that the Ibsen we imagine is not quite the same person as the young man who struggled to get his first play published? At the museum, we follow Ibsen through his years as a young man in Grimstad – his friendships, his romances, and his challenges. Our competent guides help explore this complex personality who worked at the pharmacy, studied for his exams, and started his literary career.
We offer guided tours of the museum every hour between 11 am and 4 pm during the summer. The tours at 12 am and 3 pm are given in English.
