A walk in Hamsun's Grimstad

Knut Hamsun lived in Grimstad for over 30 years. This walking tour explores Hamsun's time in the city and gives you an overview of his life. The tour begins with a short introductory film at the Hamsun Museum before we set out to visit key Hamsun sites around town.

During the tour, you will among other things hear about the purchase of the Nørholm manor in 1918, the Nobel Prize in Literature, and the trial against Hamsun after the war. You will also gain insight into parts of Hamsun's literary work, including Victoria and On Overgrown Paths.
